By using splashtemp.com (“Splashtemp”, “we”) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Information only

Splashtemp is an informational directory. We do our best to be accurate but we do not guarantee that any pool is open, that any swim time, price, hours or feature is correct or current, or that any water temperature is accurate. Temperatures marked “estimated” or “typical” are not measurements. Always confirm with the facility before you travel, and follow lifeguard and posted rules. You use the information at your own risk.

Safety

Swimming carries risk. Splashtemp does not supervise, operate or inspect any pool, and nothing on the site is medical or safety advice. Children and weak swimmers need adult supervision.

Third-party sites and content

Pool pages link to official operator sites, city pages, maps and photo sources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. Photos belong to their credited owners and are shown with credit or under the licence named beside them. Data comes from Overture Maps, OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL), municipal open data and Parks Canada; see About.

Advertising

The site shows ads served by Google AdSense. Ads are not endorsements, and we are not responsible for advertisers’ products or sites. See the privacy policy.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the site: no attempts to disrupt it, no abusive automated scraping that degrades service, and no reuse of our compiled data in a way that breaches the licences of the underlying sources.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Splashtemp and its owner are not liable for any loss or injury arising from use of the site or reliance on its information. The site is provided “as is”.

Data and Map Content

1. Our map data. Splashtemp shows water temperatures measured by third parties and estimates calculated by Splashtemp. Some estimates use river network and lake data from the HydroSHEDS version 1 database, © World Wildlife Fund, Inc. (2006–2022), used under licence, and from HydroLAKES (Messager et al., 2016, CC BY 4.0).

2. Permitted use. You may view Splashtemp’s maps, readings and estimates for personal, non-commercial use on splashtemp.com.

3. Restrictions. You may not (a) copy, scrape, download in bulk, extract or redistribute Splashtemp’s river-network-derived data, estimates or underlying datasets, in whole or in substantial part; (b) use them to build or supply a competing dataset or service; (c) decompile, reverse engineer or disassemble any data, code or files provided through the site, except where applicable law expressly permits this despite this restriction; or (d) remove or alter any copyright or attribution notice.

4. Third-party data. Measured readings and some layers are provided by governments and other organisations under their own licences, such as the Open Government Licence – Canada, the Open Government Licence – British Columbia, and CC BY 4.0. Those licences govern those records, and the credits shown on the map form part of these Terms.

5. No warranty. Estimates are not measurements and may be wrong. All data is provided “as is” without warranty of accuracy, completeness, currency or fitness for any purpose. Neither Splashtemp nor its data providers, including World Wildlife Fund, Inc., are liable for any decision you make based on it. Water temperature is not a safety rating.

6. Licensor rights. Data licensors whose terms require it, including World Wildlife Fund, Inc. for HydroSHEDS data, may enforce sections 3 and 5 as third-party beneficiaries.
